The reality of the World Wide Web Today is dystopic as fuck. The cipherpunks of the 1990's expected democracy to be recompiled and operate using TCP/IP, instead we got new insturments of manufacturing consent. We were promised a new enlightened age and we got fucking brain rot in return.... I would like to have a recall for the World Wide Web please
What really happened it we got a "free market" that cow tows to the lowest common denominator, and since "The Medium is the Message" we get medioctiry. Before during the "Broadcast Television" age there was a "Elitest Cabal" working for "Big Television". This elite got a serious say in what the masses consumed and helped design "The Culture". There was just something about "Star Trek The Next Generation", "Classic Simpsons", and "Mr. Rogers" that feel like a foreign country in today's media landscape. When people are given too much choice and free will most of them won't eat well, exercise, or put effort into consuming media that is good for them and society.
